Black Box Coffee - Cargo Bike Grant

Black Box Cargo Bike

Who are Black Box Coffee?

Black Box Coffee is a speciality coffee company based in Spitalfields, Tower Hamlets.

Why did Black Box Coffee get involved with the Zero Emissions Network?

Black Box Coffee was looking for a way in which to make coffee delivery more sustainable. A bespoke action plan, detailing ways in which Black Box Coffee could save money and reduce air pollution, was written for the company. Black Box followed the recommendations and used a grant from the Zero Emissions Network to purchase their very own retrofitted cargo bike.

How did it benefit the business?

The cargo bike has improved the sustainability of Black Box Coffee who were able to stop using a petrol car to transport goods to shops, events and markets. The design of the bike means that as well as transporting goods it can also be used as an eye-catching pop-up coffee bar.

“The Zero Emissions Network has been great for us, we managed to secure a grant for our cargo bike which has been great, it looks really good, it’s free to get around, it can fit everything inside it we need for an event or to make coffee and it’s zero pollution, a bonus!” Ben, Owner, Black Box Coffee
