Alternatives to private car or van ownership
The closure of Zipcar earlier this month has reduced the choices that businesses and residents have for shared and sustainable transport in our city. We know that for many people, car-share clubs enable them to not own a private car or van. Many of the businesses that use cargo bikes for their operations, rely on a car club for occasional use.

Why not try a cargo bike? There is a network of OurBike public hire cargo bikes in the ZEN boroughs, which can be used by the hour. Businesses get 3 free hours and residents get one hour to try out a cargo bike. All bikes must be returned to where they are picked up, except for the flexi bikes in Hackney which can be returned to any of the 5 hubs.
