Hackney Council's Bike Around the Borough is back on the 28 June 2018!
Every year hundreds of Hackney school children take to the roads for a mass ride around the borough, organised by the Council to provide a chance for students to practice the skills they've learned through national standards cycle training and to help them see how easy it is to travel around Hackney by bike. In 2016, the world record was broken for the total number of people in a 'bike bus', in which participants ride together along a set route.
To celebrate the eighth annual bike bus and all things cycling, there will be a midsummer celebration taking place from 3.30 - 7pm at Hackney Downs park. As ever, a few of our great ZEN members are turning up in their cargobikes to mark the occassion with food, drink and more including Five Points Brewing and Champagne Lasseaux. The celebration will also include roller cycle racing with Rollapaluza, cargo bike test rides, cycle race pump track and balanceability with Stars 'n' stripes!
